Jesus is the Bread of Life: Easter Worship and Osterbrot

Easter!

Resurrection! Worship!

Jesus is Alive! Focusing on His resurrection. Worshipping our Risen Savior. Those come first in our family’s celebration.

We also like to eat. The traditional foods of the holiday become important, I know my grown children with grown children of their own expect chocolate buttercream eggs from a certain local chocolatier. Deviled eggs (doesn’t sound too Eastery-🙃) and lemon meringue pie top my daughter’s list of traditional Easter foods.

*Tangled Promises is set in Germany. Osterbrot or probably more accurately in the area where the story takes place, Osterfladen, is on the menu. Easter bread. It’s typically a sweet bread because Easter is the time to break the Lenten fast.

Recipes vary. Here’s one to try: German Osterbrot – Osterfladen

Jesus tells us He is the Bread of Life! That’s what His death and resurrection are all about! He gave His life so that we may believe and live with Him forever in heaven.

“…I am the Bread—living Bread!—who came down out of heaven. Anyone who eats this Bread will live—and forever! The Bread that I present to the world so that it can eat and live is myself, this flesh-and-blood self.”            ~John 6:51 (The Message)
