All dressed in white wearing her pretty red shoes and carefully selecting grapes and apples, this little girl flashes back some of the best ever memories gathering the grapes and apples for Gram’s yummy ‘brosia salad. The sweet lass’ golden hair shines far fairer than my dark mop did, but the sentimental moment gleams. My childhood freely oozed with trouble and thorns, but summertime was spent with my grandparents. To be sure, summers at Gram and Gramp’s overflowed with love and Jesus, (and ‘brosia salad, too).
Gram loved experimenting in the kitchen, her unconventional ambrosia salad holding strong as a favorite signature item of Miss Dot’s Cafe. The dish remains on the menu for the newly renovated Coffee Cottage, too. I just know you will love it, and Gram and I will be proud for you to serve our salad. Be watching for this and a few more of our favorite recipes in the next few months.
