When “completion” and “laughter” kept knocking and begging to be my word for the year, I hadn’t even considered choosing one. Completion conjured up many thoughts — not all were positive. I needed to know the whispers were from God.
So, what does the Bible have to say about these two words — especially when joined with one another? I laughed at that thought, then found this Bible verse:
Our mouths were filled with laughter then, and our tongues with shouts of joy. Then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”
~Psalm 126:2 (HCSB)
WOW! What a confirmation. I’ve claimed Completion and Laughter as my word for the year. What a blessing just to begin the year with this Scripture verse. Comparing different versions of the same Bible verse, The VOICE has become one of my favorite versions. Here’s an example why.
Our mouths were filled with laughter;
our tongues were spilling over into song.
The word went out across the prairies and deserts,
across the hills, over the oceans wide, from nation to nation:
“The Eternal has done remarkable things for them.”
~Psalm 126:2 (VOICE)
Completion and Laughter. I’m anticipating the great things the Lord is doing in my life and the life of my family and others in my circles. I’ll find my joy in the Lord, and look for laughter everywhere, and happy surprises in the days ahead.
